In conversation with Soraya Mansour, Fresh Food Market

The Fresh Food Market brand is part of the renowned and long established Al Mansour Holding Group. As founders of the highly acclaimed supermarket chains Metro Markets & Kheir Zaman, they significantly contributed to developing the concept of food retailing in Egypt.

Soraya Mansour, Vice CEO at Metro Markets, shares her thoughts on the development of her company and the collaboration with Schweitzer.

Six years ago, you entered the company and are now operating as Vice CEO at Metro Markets – what are your visions the company?

I have been with Fresh Food Market for the last 6 years, since 2018.

My vision is for the brand to constantly evolve through new designs, ideas, food and concepts. Always offering customers a unique luxury shopping and dining space, a hub for unique homemade products and international flavors.

To date, FFM has designed and built 4 projects with the Italian design & shopfitting company Schweitzer. What do you appreciate about this cooperation?

I appreciate the people I get to work with through this cooperation. The creative heads of Interstore and building experts of Schweitzer are always forward thinking, with excellent attention to detail and very supportive throughout the entire process.

Have the stores built by Schweitzer in the past met your company’s expectations in terms of sales?

Every project we did together with Schweitzer and Interstore so far has been a novelty for the Egyptian retail market. The unique shopping experiences we created in this partnership definitely helped in terms of sales.

Schweitzer's sister company, the retail design agency Interstore, takes the creative lead in all projects in close consultation with our clients.
Did you feel involved in the design process?

Yes, I do feel very involved. This is my favorite part of the process, the Interstore designers are extremely creative, they understand the brand and help get our message across in a unique way. They truly always exceed my expectations.
