TIGRO opens newly redesigned flagship store
Following an extensive refurbishment, TIGROS has unveiled its newly redesigned flagship store in Solbiate Arno, Lombardy. Developed by Schweitzer as a Design & Build project across approximately 4,000 m² of retail space, the concept marks a significant step forward in the brand’s visual evolution.
The redesign focuses on highlighting TIGROS’ signature fresh-food departments, improving customer navigation and shopping comfort, and creating a welcoming environment with a fresh, contemporary graphic identity.
As both a flagship location and the company’s headquarters site, the store serves as a model for a broader rollout planned across up to 15 additional locations in Lombardy. Notably, renovation works were completed in carefully phased night shifts to ensure uninterrupted store operations.
The new concept centers on three key areas: fresh produce, fresh-service counters, and cosmetics & wellness. Customers are welcomed by a redesigned fruit and vegetable department featuring warm wood elements, digital screens, and a clearer layout. The bakery area introduces updated colors, graphics, flooring, and furniture, while the fish, meat, and deli counters are aligned along a single axis with self-service options and large digital displays, supported by a clear color-coded navigation system.
The cosmetics department now stands out with a bold orange identity, complemented by upgraded pet-product areas, new advertising surfaces, and a modern customer service corner in TIGROS’ signature yellow and blue brand colors.
For the first time in Lombardy, the store also features Schweitzer’s Waterloop refrigeration system, improving energy efficiency, simplifying maintenance, and enabling effective heat recovery.
Despite working within a limited budget and maintaining the existing layout, targeted design interventions—including wooden slat structures guiding customer flow and optimized lighting—significantly enhance the overall store atmosphere. The Solbiate Arno flagship now sets the benchmark for TIGROS’ future store design concept, with up to 15 new openings planned for next year based on this format.
